Taupo

Taupo is booked for the 3rd and 4th of November. Let Marc know, as soon as possible please.

Remember the Sahara has a Hot pool, Spa pool and Sauna. It is right on the lake, with a Bottle shop and Macdonalds out the backdoor.

Memories on the West Ak Red link.

England 2 - Portugal 0

A lightning goal from Saha, brightened an unspectacular match against Benfica this morning, with only a few flashes of Ronaldo brilliance and little else to show for Uniteds first away win in the last three years of the Champions League.

Oh yeah, that other red team managed a win against Porto, but much more disturbing was the performance of Ruud for Real Madrid, in fact the whole Real experience was worrying, lets hope someone shatters their confidence before we meet.

Two Points Dropped

Well, what should have been a routine three points turned into an early morning of frustration today against Reading.

Fergie freshened the team up a bit with 5 changes from the Arsenal game including the much anticipated return of Gabriel Heinze at left back. He may have been out for over a year but it wasn't long before he was launching into a few of his trademark strong tackles. Some of the passing and movement in the first half was exceptional but we went in at half time with nothing to show for it and the game score less.

That all changed however, in the 2nd minute of the second half, when Reading were awarded a dubious penalty after a hand ball by Gary Neville. Young Irishman Kevin Doyle scored from the spot despite a great effort by Van der Sar to keep it out.
10 minutes later Fergie brought on Saha to give us a bit more firepower after what seemed to me like a baffling decision to leave him out in the first place.

The equaliser finally came from a great piece of Ronaldo magic in the 73rd minute.
It was one way traffic after that towards the Reading goal but the winner just wouldn't come, leaving us to contemplate another frustrating game and all the good work at the start of the season slowly being undone with only one point from the last two games.

Shattered

Well, after 4 hours and 25 minutes of reasonably entertaining football, a last minute goal wrecked my morning. We might not have deserved a win, but a draw would have been a fair result. Not even Ole could pull off a last second equaliser and the winning start to the season was over. The good news, is that now the loss has happened, United can carry on without the unbeaten BURDEN on their back.

I was never a big Saha fan, but this season he has been on fire, so it all bodes well for the future.

Manchester Utd on the telly

Excellent game against the green machine on Thursday morning, I hope a few of you got down to Newmarket to cheer the Reds on in the sea of green. They should have played in hoops, the stripes looked awful. A room report, someone ?

Anyway, moving on to this weekend and a couple of great morning football games, with 3 games live tonight and then on Monday morning Chelski at home to the Scousers and then United against Arsenal at Old Trafford, 3 am kick-off.

Enjoy the beautiful game.

A night on the toun

Great to see Ole back in goalscoring form getting a double for Norway against Hungary and also Scotland destroying the Faroe Islanders 6-0, with Fletcher getting on the sheet, you have no idea how times those Islanders have screwed our European and World Cup qualifying chances, so good on the lads.

Really do like that Lennon kid as well.
