from the old man,
Now welcome, summer, with thy sun soft,
That has this winter’s storms shaken off
And driven away the long nights black
That has this winter’s storms shaken off
And driven away the long nights black

Supporters Club Christmas Party
A great time was had by all earlier today at the annual Christmas party, the mood being merrier after this morning's great result.
After having a good feed and singing Happy Birthday to Mike, we had a 7 a side kick around out on the field to run off the extra helpings of dessert.
Then the final event of the afternoon was the presentation of the MUFCNZ football team Player of the Year. This went to a very deserving Plymouth Jim for his outstanding displays in goal for us all season. Well done Jim.

Boro and Larsson
Another wonderful performance from Ronaldo earned Manchester United a win over Middlesbrough this morning. When you settle down and watch the countless replays, you will see, thou the defender misses, Ronaldo actually stumbles not dives. But who cares, six points clear of Chelsea and they have the biggest DIVER in the world with Robben, so onward and upward the Reds go marching on.
Oh my, looks like we got another old crooner with Henrik joining up for twelve weeks. Should be an interesting three months, I hope he still has the legs.

Brisbane man on the ground
The Brisbane man on the ground returned just in time to watch the Everton game having missed the two big games while I was away. The weather was shocking, not a bit of rain when we needed it to save us, despite the fact we were dancing around with umbrellas in 32 degrees heat! The crowd and the atmosphere made me proud to be English even if the cricket didn't.
Good win over Everton despite fielding a weakened team. I still think that our squad isn't big enough and the fringe players aren't good enough. Not one of the midfielders who played on Wednesday would get near the Chelsea team. If we can stay injury and suspension free we will win the league otherwise it's going to be a struggle. Let's hope for another win on Saturday against Boro before the big derby next weekend.

Toffees for breakfast
After a very disjointed first half performance, Manchester United finally took control mid-way thru the second half and ran out 3-0 winners against Everton at Old Trafford this morning. You could tell things were not going well, when no one wanted the ball aside from Ronaldo and Rooney, everyone else kept getting rid of it as fast as possible. Kieran Richardson had his worst ever outing in a Utd shirt (except for two cracking free-kicks both just skimming over the bar), I had never seen him make a bad pass EVER, yet he failed to deliver 90% of the time today, Carrick, Fletcher and Neville’s touches were not much better.
It was the irrepressible Ronaldo who scored the first goal after a Carrick shot rebounded off a defender and Ronaldo steered it wide of the keeper and home. In to the second half and with the midfield failing to deliver, up stepped Rio with a storming run just stopped at the edge of the box. Then minutes later, right on the hour, Rooney laid off a beautiful ball to his left and who was there, the other fullback Evra, who charged in to the box and squeezed the ball thru the Everton keepers legs, classic. And then right at the death Rooney had a shot parried and Evra sent it back in the box for O’Shea to flick it past the keeper.
GO YOU REDS !!!
