United 2 - Villa 0

A rather dull match was rescued by the wonder duo of Ronaldo and Rooney late in the game. The result means United have now won 13 successive matches against Villa, while boss Sir Alex Ferguson maintained his proud record of never having lost a third round tie in the FA Cup.

Other than a couple of chances for Anderson and a howler from Giggs, the game was an absolute bore, owing much to Aston Villas defensive mode and a lack of spark from the United team. Even the injection of Rooney in the 70th minute failed to light it up and it wasn't till the 80th minute that the Red Beast (dressed in white) woke up, with Anderson, Rooney and Giggs combining in a nice move on the left and Ronaldo finished it, by dragging the ball across the line. Then it was all on, as the men in white picked up the pace and in the last minute Ronaldo smashed a shot at goal, that the keeper pushed out to Rooney, who delivered the coup de grace.

New Year

Hi everyone, hope you all had a great Christmas, New Year and best wishes in the coming. United have performed wonderfully over the holiday period and the young talent on the field is a joy to see.

Looking forward to a good FA Cup game at Aston Villa this weekend.
