CNY Tournament

A tough game for the Man Utd NZ team this afternoon against Garry and the Chinese Stars.

We dominated for long spells, made untold breaks, but we couldn't stick one past Garry and unfortunately after we finished nil all, the game went to penalties.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Our record in this horror is similar to United and when Gareth smashed the first into the crossbar and it bounced down and out, not crossing the line we knew we were in the hard lane ....

Jan played brilliant all game, but penalties are 90% against the keeper and we went down 2-4.

Great performance by all the guys first up this season and thanks for the fantastic support.

Glory Glory Man United

The Red Machine continues on the pathway to glory, as a late scramble against Blackpool this morning preserved the unbeaten league record.

After smashing Birmingham last weekend, United came up against a much more determined opposition this morning.

Blackpool were 2-0 up and the better side at half-time, thanks to headed goals from poorly defended corners from Craig Cathcart and DJ Campbell. But with the home side’s tempo and energy expended, and with substitutes Ryan Giggs and Javier Hernandez providing pace and penetration, the final 20 minutes was all one-way traffic. Dimitar Berbatov got the first of two goals after 72 minutes, then Hernandez equalised before his Bulgarian strike-partner completed the turnaround with two minutes of normal time remaining – although there were ten minutes of added time to survive due to a serious head injury suffered by Rafael.

Another comfortable win this morning over Stoke City.

Nani is just playing unbeliveable football ....

So wins over Stoke and West Brom and ripped off by Birmingham, overall the holiday period has been good.
