The Reds in the valley
Manchester United NZ played Norwest at Huapai last Sunday.
The day looked a little suspect, but ultimately turned out sunny az. The Red army, and indeed it was an army, with 19 players, lined up against a blue machine looking for vengeance, after we had blitzed them in the last game.
The Manchester United NZ supporters team included Jan, KJ, Ken, Lionel, Marc, Karl, Hayden, Nick, Skip, Joseph, Kwan, Luke, Lee, Matt, Daniel, Phil jr, Gareth, Shaw and Wes.
What a lineup and the blues (even tho they had a few first teamers) looked decidedly nervous and with good reason as the Reds set to them from the start.
And it was Luke who stood out today, his touch was fantastic and his passing was superb. He has had a couple of injuries in the last few years and has gained heaps from playing with us in the last couple of months, a talent for sure ...
With Skip taking over Mikes role of calling the shots, the Reds unleashed untold attacks on the Norwest defence in the first half and in the end it was Skip who broke thru with a great run and a cracking shot. The blues tried hard to stop the Red machine, but when Hayden defeated the offside trap and scored another great goal, it was all over ..
