Wonderful opening game for the Manchester United NZ Supporters Club Sunday football team this afternoon at Alan Wood reserve.
Playing a composite Chinese side of 25 odd players, the Red Machine played some wonderful early season football.
With a squad of talent including Garry, Walter, Cardiff, Ron Q, Mike, James, Gareth, Marc, Ken, Jan, Mike Tull, Steve T, Rob, James, Rowan, Hayden and the new boys Pat and Warren, we were hyped from the start. In a game of three halfs, the boys were outstanding, esp Garry in goal, Walter in defense and Steve Taylor, but the player of the day was Warren, he was absolutely awesome, a one touch player who combined perfectly with Colly and set us on the winning track.
Last years Goalscorer of the Year Mike Tull slotted home a great penalty and Warren scored the winner.
Woo hoo, 2-1, great start to the season guys ..
